MXV Methodology documentation

1. Shared MXV Methodology v2.1 documentation

MXV is defined on a solid foundation, backed with a considerable amount of methodology documentation.

The latest MXV methodology version 2.1 is suitable for all available versions of MXV Productivity Tools.

For example the documentation covers the applied:

  • Logical data model naming standard

  • XML Architecture

  • XML design rules based on OASIS UBL NDR 2.1 (*), and its documented rule variations

  • UML - XML model integration technique

  • Model Change Management Process

  • Model Extension technique

For a successful MXV implementation, very few people other than the MXV model administrator need a detailed understanding of MXV's foundation.

That need is further reduced for the administrator by deploying the powerful MXV Productivity Tools.

Nevertheless, the documentation is critical to provide clarity and openness if and when required.

The following documentation is owned by the New Zealand Ministry of Education (MoE), whose MXV implementation is called ESL (Education Sector Language).

While the documentation is written for ESL and MoE's Education Sector Data Model (ESDM), it is equally applicable to any MXV implementation.
